Can you recover my particular disc?

The free scan is the way to find out. Results depend on the condition of your disc and the drive reading it. Some recordings come back in full, some only in part, and some cannot be recovered. Preview readable content before buying a license to save.

What do I need to get started?

A Windows 10 or 11 computer, a compatible internal or USB optical disc drive, and free space for recovered files. A DVD drive is needed for DVDs. If your computer has no disc drive, you will need a compatible external one.

How long will recovery take?

It varies with the disc, its damage and the drive. A difficult disc can take hours while Heirvo retries damaged areas. You can pause and resume a recovery.

What is free, and when do I pay?

Scanning and in-app preview are free. Recover is a one-time $49 license that unlocks saving recovered files. Scan your own disc first and decide after seeing the results. No subscription is required.

Do my family recordings go to the cloud?

Your photos, videos and speech processing stay on your computer. License activation and occasional license checks contact Lemon Squeezy. You do not need an account to scan a disc.

Is spoken-word search available now?

Spoken-English search is being verified for the next Windows release. Searching speech from recovered discs is included in the free in-app preview. Archive also lets you import existing videos and audio from your PC and index their speech. Recognition and timing depend on the audio; search does not recognise unspoken scenes. Check the download page for release availability.
