1. Heirvo runs entirely on your computer#
Heirvo is a desktop application for Windows. Disc reading, recovery, video conversion, thumbnails and speech transcription run on the computer where you installed it. Recovered files and the personal media vault are stored locally. These operations do not upload your recordings to a cloud processing service.
Local processing can work offline when the required components are installed and a paid license is within its offline allowance.
2. License validation#
Activation sends your license key and a random installation identifier to Lemon Squeezy. Later validation and deactivation use the license key and its activation instance. Responses can include the purchased product, license status and customer email. A signed license record is kept on your computer.
The current app uses a 14-day validation cache and allows paid features for up to 30 days after a successful check. Reconnect to renew that validation. These are license checks, not recurring payments. They do not send your recordings, transcript text or local media paths. The provider receives ordinary connection data needed to handle the request, such as an IP address.
3. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking#
The Heirvo desktop app contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter that auto-uploads, no tracking pixels and no automatic usage metrics. Network activity includes:
- License activation, validation and deactivation, as described above.
- Downloads of required media helpers or speech models when an installed component is missing or you select a different model. Download providers receive normal connection information; your media is not part of the download request.
Opening support, checkout or download links in your browser also contacts those websites. Heirvo does not automatically send a diagnostic bundle; you choose whether to share one with support.
4. The heirvo.com website#
Cloudflare hosts heirvo.com and handles ordinary web requests and security logs. These can include requested URLs, timestamps, IP addresses and browser information. Website request counts do not tell us what you recover in the desktop app.
We do not add Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or standalone advertising trackers to heirvo.com. Embedded video players have their own data processing, described below.
Dedicated video watch pages load YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedded player when you open the page. Loading the player contacts YouTube and can share technical information such as your IP address and browser details. Playback starts when you press Play; videos do not autoplay. Its processing is governed by Google’s privacy policy. Video-library thumbnails are served from heirvo.com. Watch-page transcripts remain readable if the embedded player is blocked.
5. Payments#
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who acts as the merchant of record. They collect what is needed to process a sale — your name, email, billing country, and order details. Card information is handled by Stripe inside Lemon Squeezy’s checkout; we never see, receive, or store your payment card numbers.
Lemon Squeezy provides the receipt and license key. We can access customer and order details in the merchant dashboard to provide purchase support and handle refunds. The app can retain the email associated with a validated license to display its holder.
6. Email#
We use [email protected] for support conversations only. If you write to us, we will reply, and we keep the thread so we have context if you write again. We never add support emails to a marketing list. We never sell, share, or rent email addresses. Messages and diagnostic attachments you choose to send may contain personal information. Diagnostic bundles exclude media files but can include disc labels, local paths, logs and device details; review them before sending.
7. Your rights#
Because Heirvo collects so little, your rights are simple:
- Access & deletion. Email [email protected] and we will tell you exactly what we have on you (essentially: your purchase record, license information and support messages) and delete it on request, subject to legal retention requirements for sales records.
- Refund. See our Terms for the 30-day refund policy.
- Opt out. You are not opted into anything. There is nothing to opt out of.
8. Changes to this policy#
If we ever change how Heirvo handles your data — particularly if anything new starts leaving your computer — we will update this page and note the change at the bottom. Material changes will also be communicated to active license holders by email.
9. Contact#
Questions about privacy, this policy, or anything else: email [email protected]. A real human replies, usually within a day.
