Recover and check the source first
Use the free scan and preview to see what is readable. Check the saved recording for missing passages, audio problems and visible damage. Keep the original recovered output as your reference copy.
What Heirvo currently offers
Recover unlocks saving recovered disc files. Archive adds a local vault, media import and speech transcription/search. Family provides Archive features on more household computers. Speech transcription is not picture enhancement.
The current software offer does not include a working AI restoration workflow, restoration presets, automatic NVIDIA acceleration or guaranteed enhancement times. Earlier wording describing these as included features was incorrect and has been corrected.
If you choose a separate editing tool
Make a copy of your recovered video before editing. Compare any processed result with the original, including motion and speech. Keep the original even if you prefer an edited version. Increasing output resolution does not prove that lost source detail was recovered.
A different way to make recordings useful
With Archive, recognised speech can become searchable using a local Whisper model. A spoken name or phrase may help you locate a passage. Accuracy depends on the recording; search results and their timestamps should be checked by playback. See the download page for release-verification status.
A few more answers
Common questions
Does Archive include AI picture restoration?
No. Archive's current offer is a local media vault, importing and speech transcription/search, alongside Recover's save features. AI picture restoration is not an included capability.
Can enhancement replace missing disc data?
An edited or generated image is not evidence that unreadable original data has been recovered. Preserve the source and evaluate edited copies separately.
